Belligerent MDR Partisans To Be Booted Out…For Indiscipline Conduct At PYJ’s Funeral

The Governing Council of the Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) party, led by the National Chairman Cllr. Cooper W. Kruah, Sr. has disclosed the immediate expulsion of a group of partisans who almost practically disrupted the official tribute delivery recently at the funeral of late Founding Leader Senator Prince Yornie Johnson.

The group, according to a release, was led by outgoing Youth Congress Chairman, Czar Pailey, as their actions in Ganta contravened standing principles and code of conduct of the MDR.  Meanwhile, the National Chairman MDR and Labour Minister Cllr.

Cooper W. Kruah, Sr. has reaffirmed the commitment of the party to its current alliance with the Government of President Joseph Nyumah and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung. The MDR was established by Nimba County legionary Senator

Prince Yornie Johnson who passed away recently and was interred in his native city of Ganta, Nimba County over the weekend after a colourful funeral ceremony. The release issued January 18, 2025 quotes the MDR National

Chairman Kruah as expressing the party’s official position in recommitting its alliance with the Unity Party-led Rescue Mission Government, something which he described as “the life dream and legacy of late Senator Johnson”.

Chairman Kruah in the party special tribute at the funeral of the late Founding Leader, Senator Johnson, said although there are some MDR party cadres who may have divergent views on this matter, the official position of the party has been made public and being demonstrated in concrete terms through the level of cordial interactions between the two parties on several crucial national issues, for the greater benefit of the Liberian people and specifically citizens of Nimba County, the birthplace of the party’s late founding leader and several other officials.

Meanwhile, MDR National Chairman Kruah has declared that the party will remain a formidable political force even after the unfortunate demise of late Senator Johnson, but it will not deviate from its constructive engagement policy in addressing national issues.
