The campuses of the University of Liberia was once again held under siege by militants of the Student Unification Party (SUP), disrupting academic activities just over a month since the reopening of school after being closed for over five months.

The student-based party members, under the stewardship of Kwein W. Kwein, were seen on Monday morning of February 24, 2025, protesting over the failure of administration to adhere to students’ demands on grounds that there were serious issues that hamper a smooth learning environment on the campuses of the University of Liberia.

SUP is demanding that the administration reopens the e-portal platform to enable students that were dropped from their original sections to be readmitted; that the administration makes available more chairs for over 22,000 plus students at the University of Liberia, and provides buses to commute students to and from the campuses of the university.

The vanguard Student University Party has given the UL administration a two-day ultimatum to resolve these issues or face unending protests that would extend to the home of President Joseph N. Boakai.

However, the potest did not last the whole day because Chairman Kwein later appealed to fellow comrades to return to classes and continue the learning processes while the two-day ultimatum elapses.

Students at the main campus on Capitol Hill welcomed the protest and even promised to join forces with SUP to send a clear message to the administration on the prevailing situations faced by students on the campuses of the university.
