The Liberia National Police has arrested 61-year-old Mary Giah in connection with the deaths of three kids in Menlah Town, District #9, Nimba County. Police Spokesman, Sam Collins, has disclosed in a press release. The incident occurred on February 22, 2026.
According to a preliminary investigation, Giah allegedly fled to a nearby town following the incident but was apprehended shortly after the matter was reported. The deceased minors have been identified as: Melvina Ziansaye, 4, Walalenon Tokpah, 2, and Menwaseh Giah, 6 years old.
The bodies of the three children were discovered inside their grandmother’s residence. Authorities observed visible injuries on the victims. The remains of the deceased are currently being processed in accordance with investigative procedures. Suspect Mary Giah remains in police custody, undergoing further investigation.
Collins is quoted as saying that suspect Giah will be formally charged and forwarded to court in accordance with Liberian law. The Liberia National Police extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and assures the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing to ensure justice is served.
