President Joseph Nyumah Boakai is expected to officially launch the five-year strategic plan of the Liberia Standard Authority (LiSA) today. Speaking on Tuesday, February 16, 2026 at the Ministry of Information’s regular press briefing, Deputy Director General for Technical Services, Koakun Emmanuel Myers, said the program will unveil Liberia’s First National Quality Mark.
The launch of LiSA’s Five-Year Strategic Plan will conclude a week-long activation, which began on February 12. According to him, the launch of LiSA’s Five-Year Strategic Plan outlines accreditation pathways, resource mobilization strategies, regional laboratory expansion, sector-specific regulatory rollouts, business, and sustainability frameworks.
He said the plan includes a roadmap to extend services beyond Monrovia through regional hubs and incubator laboratories to serve farmers and rural producers better. There has been a Week-Long Activation Schedule to promote stakeholder ownership ahead of the Presidential launch.
“On February 18, Consumer Education Day, there will be public awareness on standards, counterfeit risks, and benefits of the National Quality Mark, “he added. The official commissioning and policy reinforcement on standards and conformity assessment will comprise the control of imported products. He said they will verify the Conformity Program to address concerns regarding substandard and expired imports.
