The Cabinet, chaired by President Joseph N. Boakai, convened on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in Bomi County, where it approved a series of key national priorities. Chief among them is an accelerated job strategy, a strengthened national response to drug abuse, and the country’s first-ever national budget to surpass the one-billion-dollar mark.
During the meeting, the Cabinet endorsed the development of a National Employment Acceleration Strategy, a comprehensive framework to boost job creation through investment-driven initiatives, expanded public works, skills development, and targeted support for small and medium enterprises. The strategy also includes a renewed commitment to reliable national data systems.
The Cabinet mandated LISGIS, the National Investment Commission, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Labor, and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to coordinate its rollout and provide quarterly updates. At the meeting, the Minister of Finance and Development Planning briefed the Cabinet on the newly submitted FY2025/26 National Budget, the first in Liberia’s history to exceed US$1 billion.
