President Joseph N. Boakai will on today, September 8, 2025, depart Liberia for the United States of America to participate in two major international engagements — a global diaspora conference and the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
While in America, the President is expected to use the diaspora gathering to strengthen ties with Liberians abroad, mobilize support for national development, and encourage investment back home. Also, at the UNGA in New York, President Boakai will join world leaders to address pressing global issues, including peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, and international cooperation.
His participation is also expected to spotlight Liberia’s governance reforms and post-conflict recovery efforts. President Boakai’s trip marks his second major foreign mission since taking office in January 2024, underscoring his administration’s push to re-engage Liberia on the international stage.
