A Liberian has made history once again among the diverse nationalities residing in the United States by being elected to the position of Councilman at the state level in New Jersey. Honorable James D. Barclay has held numerous leadership roles both in Liberia and abroad. Recently, in a competitive council election in New Jersey, Honorable Barclay emerged victorious against his fellow contestants.

According to information gathered from New Jersey, Rev. Barclay’s success was attributed to the collective efforts of his supporters, who rallied under the banner of “Team Barclay.” Their rigorous campaign strategy helped him stand out among the other candidates in this heated election for the council seat.

Reports indicate that Councilman Barclay’s win was also influenced by his strong presence and leadership both at home and abroad. He ran as a Democrat. Campaign Chairman Abraham Koe stated that Team Barclay’s victory is a significant achievement, showcasing the dedication of all supporters during the recent election.

In addition to his newfound role, Honorable Barclay has served as Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) and has held leadership positions in various international groups. He has also been reelected twice as a member of the City Council of New Jersey.
