Seventeen students from the Nigerian National Institute for Security Studies recently concluded a visit to the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) to gain insights on the role of non-state actors in security management, focusing on the associated issues, prospects, and challenges for development.
On June 17, 2025, the students visited the headquarters of the Liberia Immigration Service in Monrovia to engage in discussions concerning “Executive Intelligence Management.” This course enables national security students to explore innovative ideas within African governmental systems. According to information from the school in Nigeria, over seventy students from the National Institute for Security Studies are currently traveling across Africa, visiting various government ministries and agencies to better understand their operations.

The visit concluded with the presentation of a certificate and a book from the students’ school to LIS Commissioner General Elijah Rufus and his team, as a token of remembrance for their visit.
