The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has disclosed that the ministry will begin vehicle registration inspection exercise in Monrovia and its environs today.

Addressing the Ministry of Information press briefing on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Minister Sirleaf R. Tyler said the Ministry suspended all vehicle inspections in August 2023 to help give way to the conduct of peaceful electoral processes in Liberia.

Minister Tyler said vehicle registration compliance enforcement exercises will be done by joint enforcement team comprising of the Ministry of Transport, the Liberia National Police and the Liberia Revenue Authority.

The team will search for valid vehicle registration documents, motor insurance certificates, or stickers as well as vehicle road worthiness.

He said all operators and owners of cars, kekeh (tricycles), and motorcycles operating in Monrovia and across the country are advised to proceed at the Ministry or any of its service centers to update their registration.

Minister Tyler said those wishing to do their vehicle registration can do it to service centers in Kakata, Margibi County, Ganta, Nimba County, Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Gbarnga, Bong County and Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, as well as the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town, Monrovia.

“All those concerned are asked to take due note and comply to avoid the embarrassment because the exercise will last for 21days,” he said.
