The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Liberia, Ayokunle Olajubu along with his business team recently paid a courtesy visit on the Minister of Finance and Development Planning Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan at his Office to discuss partnership in support of Liberia’s economic growth and development.
In remarks, Mr. Olajubu recounted UBAL’s long-standing collaborations and partnerships and reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to working with the government to promote sustainable economic growth.
The UBA Managing Director expressed the bank’s preparedness to partner with the government of Liberia through the Ministry in several key areas including SME and Public Sector Infrastructure financing, and financial inclusion through banking services as well as Digital financial services.
“In the wake of the global economic crisis, the bank needs to play a pivotal role and we at UBAL are ready to take the bull by the horns. This visit is part of our stakeholder engagement to harness partnerships and explore means by which the bank can meaningfully contribute to Liberia’s development,” Mr. Olajubu stressed.
For his part, the Minister of Finance and Development Planning Hon. Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan expressed delight in the Managing Director and his team and recognized UBA’s contributions to the country’s financial sector as he encouraged more collaborative efforts in areas that align with the government ARREST agenda.
The MD was accompanied by the Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking, Mr. Joseph F. Sando, the Head of Public Sector, Lady-Lawrene Dennis, and Head of Marketing & Corporate Communication, Dennise Nimpson.
