In line with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the National Port Authority (NPA) has hosted the United States Coast Guard in a series of compliance drills and monitoring exercises aimed at reinforcing port security and operational resilience.

Speaking Monday, February 24, 2025 during the meeting in Monrovia, the Managing Director of NPA Sekou A.M. Dukuly commended the US Coast Guard for their unwavering cooperation and commitment to strengthening Liberia’s port sector.

According to Managing Director Dukuly, the US Coast Guard continuous support has been instrumental in shaping a more secure and resilient maritime environment. “The security exercise, which was conducted under the guidance of Col. Famond A. Kanneh, the Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and Chief Security Executive (CSE) at the NPA, was lauded as a successful demonstration of robust security measures and inter-agency collaboration,” he said.

Dukuly said that the NPA remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of port security and is committed to ongoing partnerships that contribute to the safety and efficiency of Liberia’s maritime operations.
