Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti says the women of Liberia fought for the peace currently being enjoyed by all Liberians.
Without the stance of women, she said, there would be no peace in Liberia today.
She spoke Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the end of a three-day Women’s Political Mediation and Peace dialogue held by Women Situation Room (WSR).
This segment delved into some issues the WSR identified and captured for stakeholders to tackle.
Minister Nyanti noted that the women of Liberia decided to choose peace over everything that is why peace is at the community level and in every household.
“If Women didn’t choose peace, every household will be in fire,” she said. According to her, there should be a set space in politics for women in Liberia, Africa and the world at large.
She stressed that women must support each other because according to her it is heartbreaking to see women tearing down each other.
For her part, former Foreign Minister Olubanke King-Akerele said they are going to start early preparations to enhance all women for leadership.
She applauded the women of Liberia for standing strong against the fight of drugs in the country.
