At least Twenty-two records officers from the 16 prison facilities across the country have benefited from a two-day intensive Prison Record Management and Database capacity building training at the Ministry of Justice in Monrovia.

According to a release, the hands-on training held from December 2-3, 2024, was conducted under the auspices of the American Bar Association-Rule of Law Initiative in collaboration with the Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation (BCR).

Assistant Director for Prison’s Operations Lawrence Bohle said the training was intended to build the capacity of record management officers on the updated database system which provides real time information on inmates at the various prison facilities.

At the opening of the event on Monday, December 2, 2024, Atty. Gabriel F. Ndupellar, Assistant Minister for Corrections and Rehabilitation, and Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs, Cllr. Charles D.K. Karmo, highlighted the importance of the training and cautioned the participants to remain focused and committed to acquiring the skills that will further strengthen their performance on the jobs.
