The Chair of the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) Configuration on Liberia, H.E. Ms. Nicola Clase, the Permanent Representative of Sweden to the UN, is expected to make her first official visit to Monrovia from 21 to 26 November 2024.

Madam Clase will be joined by Ms. Awa Dabo, the Director and Deputy Head of the Peacebuilding Support Office in the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.

The Chair of the PBC Mission in Liberia will focus on discussing Liberia’s key peacebuilding priorities, identifying ways to sustain recent progress and addressing emerging challenges.

One of the primary objectives of the visit will be building on the outcomes of the PBC Liberia Configuration’s meeting held on August 19, 2024 which emphasized Liberia’s priorities in transitional justice and the youth, peace and security agendas.

During Madam Clase’s visit, she will meet with national and regional leaders, stakeholders, and partners to explore options for mobilizing additional support and technical assistance. The consultations aim to help the Government of Liberia advance critical reforms and strengthen the country’s peacebuilding efforts.
