The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has announced the successful completion of a joint security training operation aimed at preparing Liberia’s law enforcement, military, and paramilitary agencies to address complex national security challenges.
According to an October 28, 2024 release, the exercise was conducted from October 21 to October 23, 2024, designed to strengthen collaboration, coordination, and communication among security agencies, while reinforcing a unified national security approach to problem-solving.
Furthermore, the objectives of the Exercise Watch Over VII was to equip security agencies to address growing national security issues and concerns, promote effective collaboration, coordination, and communication among security forces, define clear roles and responsibilities for all participating agencies and foster a cohesive and efficient response approach to national threats.
Institutions that participated were the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of National Defense, Armed Forces of Liberia, National Security Agency, Liberia National Police, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, Liberia Immigration Service, Liberia National Fire and Rescue Service, Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation, National Disaster Management Agency, Executive Protection Service, among others.
This is the seventh of its kind, and demonstrates Liberia’s commitment to enhancing national security preparedness and inter-agency cooperation in the face of evolving security demands.
The exercise saw its final phase with an outdoor closing program where several officials of government spoke, all thanking the Government of Liberia for its continued support and appreciated all participating agencies and personnel for their dedication and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security.
