The Movement With Integrity For National Development (MIND) has dismissed allegations made by a Board Member of Monrovia Consolidated Schools System (MCSS), Musa Fofee Fofana, that the Superintendent of the institution James A. Momoh is awarding contracts for producing books as well as US$86,000 contract to vendors for the renovation of MCSS Head Office with without the Board’s approval, disregarding the Public Procurement Concessions Commissions (PPCC) process.
MIND in a release dated October 28, 2024 said it conducted a survey over the past months of allegations against Superintendent Momoh and discover the accusations to be false, misleading, and having the propensity to tarnish the good repetition of an individual who have established himself as a public figure over the years with good records from different institutions.
MIND described these counts stipulated on documents by Musa Fofana and others as a witch-hunt against the superintendent who was vetted with good records and given preferment by His Excellency President Joseph Nyumah Boakai to serve the people of Liberia as a Superintendent of the Monrovia Consolidated School System.
“MIND, as a Civil Society group, understands that another individual behind the fight against the MCSS Superintendent in Emmanuel Robertson, who was wrongly appointed by someone from the office of the President on Emansion without the approval of the President, but refused to know that his appointment squarely lasts in the hand of the Superintendent according to the Act that established the institution( MCSS) and not the Executive Mansion, we as a Civil Society group challenge Emmanuel Robertson to bring to the public his letter of appointment by the President,” the release said.
Meanwhile, MIND has appreciated the superintendent for his outstanding performance since his preferment by President Boakai in organizing employees of the institution in a professional manner as well as sponsoring eighteen persons to India, including three students and fifteen teachers for undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs.
“We commend the Superintendent for the outstanding performance at the MCSS in bringing sanity to the institution. MIND recommends to the President to remove Musa Fofee Fofana from the MCSS Board and reshuffle the Board members that will work in the interest of the institution,” the MIND release said.
The group has also called on the Superintendent to remain focused on the discharge of the duties that will bring pride to the President and the MCSS.
