On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, a tragic motor accident along the Roberts International Airport highway left one person dead and three others injured after an escort vehicle in the convoy of President Joseph Boakai collided with a tricycle.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the incident, Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana disclosed that the accident occurred while President Boakai was on his way to dedicate a dormitory at the Love a Child Orphanage Home.
Madam Fofana: “Yes, there was an accident earlier and currently there is one person who died and three others are injured and are currently at the ELWA Hospital. According to her, the accident took place when one of the vehicles in the presidential motorcade with license plate EPS 65 ran into a tricycle.
Meanwhile, she said the President has visited the ELWA Hospital to speak with those who were involved in the accident, but revealed that there is an active investigation ongoing with officers who were on board to know what exactly happened. “The president and the team have expressed condolences to the bereaved family whose member has died,” Madam Fofana stated.
