President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and some government officials were seen on Thursday, July 18, 2024 touring the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Sinkor as part of his commitment to healthcare delivery.

The tour brought relief to patients who have overstayed at the hospital facility due to their inability to settle their bills. During the tour of the hospital, President Boakai presented a cheque to the management of the hospital on behalf of patients who are unable to pay bills.

“We are here today to present this cheque because we have understood that there are patients who have not paid their bills, we want to make sure that we pay their bills,” he said. During the President’s tour at the hospital, he also made donations of assaulted materials to children and babies’ mothers.

The Liberian leader, who visited every segment of the hospital during the tour, stated that the donation is a gesture propelled by his commitment to improving the health condition and assisting those who are in need. “This is a gesture that propelled my concern to improving the condition and assisting the needed,” he stated.

President Boakai added that the condition of the hospital facility is a challenge to the government to improve the healthcare delivery of hospitals so that Liberians will not travel out of the country to seek medical attention.

According to him, it’s a challenge to the doctors and hospital workers to create a better place for every citizen. President Boakai lauded the administrators of the hospital for the level of work being done with minimum resources.

The President said, “We went around, we looked, and there are things we saw that have committed us more to making sure that JFK becomes that hospital for our people.” At the same time, Boakai added that there are plans to improve other referral hospitals across the country so that JFK will not be overwhelmed.
