Buchanan Port Manager, Jonathan Lambort Kaipay has disclosed that nine companies are expected to invest in the Port of Buchanan.

Speaking to reporters over the weekend in Grand Bassa County, Director named Nector Group, Guma Logistics, Hylaea Sand Company, and Liberia Cement Corporation.

He further named SKT Inc., SONOCO Group, Prime Meridian Docks (GH) LTC and Swift Shipping Agency.
According to Kaipay, from the expected investment of the companies, the Port of Buchanan will eventually generate millions in revenue and help restore damages by the sea erosion.

Director Kaipay revealed that Nector Group is specialized in Terminal and Logistics, while Guma Logistics is also specialized in Logistics Services.

He added that Capstone Industry LTD is engaged with Stones Shipping, Hylaea Sand Company will carry on Black Sand Shipping, and Liberia Cement Corporation (CEMENCO) is a cement factory, SKT Inc. specialized in Marine Services for Buchanan and Greenville Ports.

He said the SONOGO Group is a Flour Mill Factory, while Prime Meridian Docks (GH) LTC is also involve in Marine Services and Swift Shipping is specialize in Building of Modern Boat.

Meanwhile, Director Kaipay indicated that the vision under his leadership are to provide modern facility to meet current day reality, maintain a sizeable work force for the productivity and efficiency, provide training opportunities for employee and staff development and recruit young Liberian, Marine engineer and piloting.
He also explained that there is a need to purchase marine equipment to include, tugboat, Shore Crane, Cat D966, Loader, Low bed truck\, Cargo, truck and Forklifts.

The former Grand Bassa County Senator has called for dredging of the port and expansion of the commercial pier, establishment of the containers, car park and the construction of a modern administrative building.
He stated that his leadership will also develop and implement new safety and security plans for the port of Buchanan.
