Only 12 Of Boakai’s 385 Commitments Completed …NAYMOTE President Meter Report Reveals

President-Joseph-Boakai

NAYMOTE’s third President Meter Report has revealed that President Joseph Boakai’s administration has completed 12 of 385 tracked promises and interventions, representing 3.1 percent. The report is part of NAYMOTE’s independent effort to monitor the implementation of the government’s development agenda and provide citizens with evidence about progress.

According to the report, 213 interventions, or 55.3 percent, are ongoing, while 57 interventions, or 14.8 percent, have not started. Another 103 interventions, representing 26 percent, were not rated because NAYMOTE said there was not enough evidence available to determine their status.

The report covers major areas of the government’s development agenda, including economic transformation, infrastructure, rule of law and governance, anti-corruption, environmental sustainability and human capital development. The figures therefore provide a broad picture of how the administration’s commitments are progressing across different sectors.

According to NAYMOTE, the low completion rate of 3.1 percent raises questions about the pace at which the government is delivering on its promises. However, the figure should not be interpreted to mean that only 3.1 percent of the government’s work has been done, because more than half of the tracked interventions are classified as ongoing and may already have made significant progress.

NAYMOTE also cautioned that changes in its monitoring framework and the availability of evidence can affect comparisons with previous reports. The 103 interventions listed as not rated do not necessarily mean they have failed; rather, there was insufficient evidence for NAYMOTE to give them a clear implementation status.
