The Director General of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), Eugene L. Fahngon, has debunked various online news and other media outlets that the Consolidated Group Incorporated, the official service provider of DSTV, has encouraged LBS to upload television content to the DSTV satellite platform.

Verity online TV reported that Consolidated Group Incorporated (CGI) submitted a communication to the office of Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Director General Eugene Fahngon, inviting the institution to uplink its content to the DStv platform. The communication, dated July 8, 2026, was signed for on July 9, 2026, by the LBS receptionist, Madam Jemama Tracy Tarpee.

Speaking on Tuesday, LBS Director General Fahngon said the information is false, that there is no meeting, and that the public should not consider that information. He said media institutions reported that he received a letter to that effect, but he had not seen any letter from any group called Consolidated Group Incorporated.

“I’ve not been given any article or received any call from the group called Consolidated Group Incorporated. However, I have been able to speak with a very high-profile and high-ranking official of the DSTV,” he said. He said the content group will be in town any time after next week or beyond, and there are plans for them to hold consultative meetings for the inference of what they discussed in the past.

“But to say that somehow we’ve been contacted to carry our programs on DSTV and that negotiations have been concluded and that they even have promised an amount; I say to the public that is untrue; that is false; that is misleading. Do not pay into it. Be patient. We’ve been working with higher-ups of DSTV, DSTV Liberia, DSTV International,” he said.

Fahngon furthered that he is working with DSTV International to roll out their normal routine programming in the Liberian broadcasting system to deliver on its promises of delivering quality service to all their people at home and abroad.
