The Joint Inspection Team of the Ministries of Public Works and Agriculture has embarked on the inspection of several ongoing road projects in Lofa County and other counties. The inspections form part of ongoing efforts to ensure that IFAD-supported road projects are implemented according to required standards, to improve rural connectivity and provide farmers with reliable access to markets.
Additionally, Rural Roads Director Christopher M. Blamoh and his team inspected the progress of major road rehabilitation works on the Kolahun Intersection to Yallahun (Lot 1, 31.30 km) and Yallahun to Vahun (Lot 2, 32.85 km) corridors, both being executed by BK Enterprise Inc., a Liberian-owned company.
The Team also assessed the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Savalahun to Botama to Kolahun Checkpoint spanning 13.17 km. Also, the contractor is Kingdom Business Inc., another Liberian-owned company, enhancing local participation in Liberia’s reconstruction process. These are projects of the Liberian Government, funded by the National Road Fund.
Director Blamoh commended both contractors for the quality of work and dedication demonstrated on the projects, and encouraged them to sustain the momentum to ensure timely completion. He noted that the improved road networks will significantly enhance transportation, increase access to markets, and boost agricultural productivity across Lofa County.
