Olalekan “Gabby” Balogun, Chairman of Bloom Bank Liberia celebrated his 60th birthday by putting smiles on the faces of children at the Zion Praise Orphanage Home, marking a life of impact and service ahead of Liberia’s July 26 Independence Day.
Bloom Bank Liberia brought food items, toiletries, and educational materials to children at the Zion Praise Orphanage Home over the weekend as part of activities leading up to the nation’s July 26 celebration.
Speaking during the donation, Joel Eze, Finance Officer of Bloom Bank Liberia, made the presentation on behalf of Chairman Balogun. Mr. Balogun, who turned 60, said he chose to give back to the less privileged as a way of celebrating life, leadership, and gratitude.
According to Mr. Eze, the visit was both meaningful and intentional. “This donation is more than a gift. It is a celebration of Mr. Balogun’s life, his leadership, and our prayer that God will bless him with long life and continued positive impact at Bloom Bank,” he said.
Mr. Eze told the children that corporate responsibility at Bloom Bank extends beyond banking assing, “At Bloom Bank, giving back to the community is not just an act of kindness, it is a responsibility. That is why we are here today.”
He encouraged the children to see beyond their present circumstances. “We hope our gifts bring love to your faces. Your current situation does not determine your future destiny. You can be a doctor, a lawyer, an entrepreneur, or an engineer. Let this gift bring joy to your heart,” Mr. Eze said.
Bloom Bank reaffirmed its commitment to serving Liberia not only through reliable banking services, but also through initiatives that uplift vulnerable communities.
Receiving the items, the head of Zion Praise Orphanage Home thanked Bloom Bank and extended birthday wishes to Chairman Balogun.
“I am shocked by this donation. I never expected it. Helping these children is a great decision. At Zion Praise Orphanage, we take care of the children and ensure they have access to education. Support like this helps us do more,” he said.
He noted that the donation came at the right time as the home prepares to join the rest of the country in celebrating July 26. The visit ended with the children, staff, and Bloom Bank team sharing moments of prayer, music, and fellowship.
