As the FIFA World Cup enters its decisive Round of 16, DStv has intensified its nationwide campaign to bring the tournament closer to Liberian football fans, transforming communities across Monrovia into vibrant football viewing centers.
From securing the rights to broadcast all 104 matches of the expanded World Cup to hosting large-scale public watch parties, DStv says it is delivering an unmatched viewing experience for subscribers throughout the tournament.
The campaign, according to a release, began with the launch of DStv’s World Cup broadcast rights, where the company pledged to air every match live in high definition across all subscription packages, from Access to Premium.
The announcement, backed by global actor Idris Elba under the slogan, “When the World Plays, Everything Can Wait,” marked the start of what the company described as its biggest World Cup campaign yet.
That promise came to life during the tournament’s opening match, when hundreds of football supporters gathered in Monrovia for DStv’s official watch party, enjoying live SuperSport coverage, expert analysis, and a festive atmosphere.
Now, with the competition entering its knockout phase, DStv has expanded the celebration by hosting community watch parties at popular venues, including Grill Republic, Passion, Cigar Hub, Sinkor Lounge, and other locations across the capital, giving fans an opportunity to experience the excitement together.
“Our goal from day one was to make this historic World Cup the most accessible and engaging tournament ever for our Liberian subscribers,” a DStv representative said. “From our initial rights launch to the current knockout stages, we want every football fan in Monrovia to feel the energy, the unity, and the magic of the game.”
To improve customer access, DStv has also expanded its network of authorized dealers across Monrovia. Customers can now purchase decoders, subscribe, reconnect services, and access other DStv products through outlets located in Duport Road Junction, Caldwell, Barnesville, Mount Barclay, Soul Clinic, Brewerville, Pipeline, and Boys Town.
With the race for the quarter-finals underway, DStv is encouraging football fans to keep their subscriptions active, download the DStv Stream app for viewing on the go, and join the growing number of supporters gathering at community watch parties across the city.
As the world’s biggest football tournament reaches its most dramatic stage, DStv is positioning itself as the platform where Liberians can experience every goal, every upset, and every defining moment live.
