BWI Celebrates 97th Founder’s Day

The Booker Washington Institute (BWI) has announced the celebration of its 97th Founder’s Day on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Margibi County. During a press briefing at the Ministry of Information on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Dr. Nancy T. Freeman, the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of BWI, shared that this historic event will bring together alumni, students, parents, sponsors, and other community members.

She noted that several sponsors and alumni members will receive special recognition for their contributions, emphasizing the importance of unity in making this year’s celebration truly memorable. Dr. Freeman highlighted that the BWI Founder’s Day is steeped in rich history and legacy, making it essential to honor this occasion.

Additionally, she mentioned that official Founder’s Day T-shirts and caps are now available for purchase at $15 or L$3,000. This merchandise symbolizes the connection to BWI, a school that has shaped generations of leaders, professionals, and changemakers.

“Founder’s Day comes only once a year and remains one of the most significant events in our school’s history, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends as one family,” she stated. Alumni members are traveling from around the world to join this momentous occasion.
