Due to the high security nature of the ongoing recruitment activities of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), the Movement for Justice, Fairness and Freedom-Education Accountability and Social Justice (EASJ), Inc. has strongly recommended the immediate suspension of any live online broadcast of the recruitment process.
In a release, the group noted that while transparency in national institutions is important, the broadcasting of sensitive recruitment procedures involving the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) presents significant security risks, including exposure of operational screening methods, potential compromise of national security protocols, increased vulnerability to manipulation, impersonation, or infiltration and risk to the safety and integrity of applicants and security personnel.
EASJ furthered that national defense institutions require controlled transparency, not unrestricted public exposure, particularly during active recruitment phases that involve background checks, identity verification, and security assessments.
The group, at the same time, called on the Ministry of National Defense, the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) High Command and relevant national security authorities to immediately discontinue live public broadcasts of recruitment proceedings and instead provide official, summarized updates through approved communication channels that protect national security while maintaining public confidence. According to EASJ, transparency must never come at the expense of national security. The release was signed by Amen Saakollie Sheriff, Founder, CEO, and Executive Director.
