The Civil Law Court Sixth Judicial Circuit for Montserrado County has issued Attachment & Garnishment Orders against the assets of Mr. Saye D. Gbalazeh, in the amount US$134,000. Court records reveal that the Attachment & Garnishment Orders were based on a Petition in which ACTIVA sought to cancel a purported sub-lease agreement with Mr. Gbalazeh, and also demand him to refund money he extracted from ACTIVA under the said sub-lease agreement.
Amongst other things, ACTIVA claims that Mr. Gbalazeh, while serving as Managing Director of the company, deceptively entered into a sub-lease agreement with himself as Lessor and ACTIVA as Lessee for a parcel of land, under which he extracted about US$134,000 cash from ACTIVA.
However, according to a release issued on Monday, April 6, 2026, ACTIVA noted that it had received information that Mr. Gbalazeh is in the process of absconding Liberia for the USA. In keeping with law, ACTIVA, therefore, requested, and the Civil Law Court granted its request, for Writ of Attachment against the assets of Mr. Gbalazeh, and Garnishment Orders directed at several banking institutions in which Mr. Gbalazeh is reported to have deposits, ordering the Banks to set aside US$134,000 of any deposits they may have for Mr. Gbalazeh, to ensure that there is money available to satisfy judgment, should the Court rule in favor of ACTIVA. The Garnishment Order is directed at ECOBANK Liberia, UBA Liberia, GT Bank Liberia, LBDI, SIB Bank Liberia and BLOOM Bank Liberia.
