The Chairman of Liberty Party (LP), Musa H. Bility is claiming that Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) political leader and former President George M. Weah is not a suitable candidate for the party’s ticket in 2029.
Speaking on Sunday, July 7, 2024 on SPOON TV, Bility said CDC is the biggest opposition political party and leader for other opposition parties but they need to do internal searching to find someone within the party that will run on the ticket in 2029.
Bility believes there is no reason for former president Weah to run on CDC ticket in the 2029 presidential election because he has already become president of Liberia.
According to Bility, Weah’s participation in 2029 and running on CDC’s ticket is not a good idea. He promised to advise Weah against any endorsement from partisans of the CDC to contest in 2029.
“Am not a member of CDC, the coming back of the former president to run on party ticket in 2029 show that there is nobody fix within their party to occupy that position,” Bility noted.
Bility further said allowing Weah to contest in the 2029 presidential election shows that there is emptiness in CDC.
It can be recalled that former President Weah in a phone conversation during CDC Militant Month in June 2024 promised to run for President in 2029 if he is called upon.
