Watanga FC and Paynesville FC’s journey to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) signifies that the entire nation must rally behind them to ensure better performance.
Paynesville FC has undergone a remarkable transformation, ascending from Division 3 to Division 1 in less than four years.

At the onset of the 2023/24 Division 1 season, they set their sights on claiming the league title or the FA cup. While the league title eluded them, they managed to secure the FA cup.
Paynesville FC is now in an advantageous position to learn from the struggles faced by Watanga FC and LISCR FC during the 2023/24 CAF club games.

Both of these clubs failed to seize control of their home matches, a lesson that Paynesville FC can take to heart.
Early preparation presents another opportunity for Paynesville FC. Last season, Watanga FC faced challenges due to their late preparation for the CAF games.

Insufficient test matches hindered their ability to gauge the strength of their squad before their home match against the Malian club.

To aid in their preparation, the LFA can support Paynesville FC by providing transportation, such as the LFA bus, for a trip to Sierra Leone.
This would allow them to engage in a few test matches against Sierra Leonean teams, helping their players adapt to the experience of facing foreign opponents before the 2024/25 African Club football, which has replaced the Confederation Cup.

Paynesville FC is a team that puts in extra effort in their training program. They will be physically prepared, but they must also focus on tactical readiness, preparing for various scenarios that may arise during their international CAF games.
