Former representative candidate Togar Alexander has raised a storm of controversy with his criticism of a recent $400,000 sidewalk project, questioning the priorities of the government amidst the country’s ongoing crises.
In a passionate statement, Alexander argued that the funds would have been better spent addressing the more pressing needs of the population, such as the chronic lack of electricity, a struggling healthcare system where common illnesses result in fatalities, and an education system in disarray. He condemned the project as a waste of taxpayer money, pointing out that it would do little to alleviate the suffering of citizens who are in desperate need of basic services and infrastructure.
Alexander suggested several alternative investments that could provide more tangible benefits to the nation. For instance, he proposed that the money could have been used to purchase ambulances for each district, providing crucial emergency medical services.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of investing in the country’s electricity grid, which would kickstart economic recovery. Other suggestions included improving agricultural infrastructure and opening major roads during the dry season.
“A land without vision perishes,” he remarked, urging for leadership that focuses on long-term solutions rather than short-term projects that fail to address the country’s most urgent challenges. He believes that true visionaries, in time, will bring the much-needed change for the nation’s future. Source Ablee-Jay TV
