Integrity Watch Liberia on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 conducted a one day policy dialogue for ministries, agencies, ArcelorMittal Liberia, civil society organization (CSOs) and NGOs.
The Irish Government project is titled: “Strengthening Inclusive Governance and Accountability in Liberia Natural Resources”.
Giving an overview of the policy dialogue, Integrity Watch Executive Director Harold M. Aidoo said the one-day dialogue will generate good recommendations on how they can advance the natural resource sector to benefit Liberians.
For his part, National Bureau of Concession Deputy Director General for Administration, Bilclintos B. Kamara, said the ARREST Agenda of the government captures natural resources management.
Deputy Director Kamara said the natural resource sector is where the government depends for infrastructure development and support towards other national needs.
He said the issue of accountability and transparency is something that the Bureau is working on along with partners to strengthen integrity in the area of natural resources for the benefit of the citizens.
Also speaking, Nimba County Representative Ernest M. Menseah said the legislature is willing to work with CSOs and the private sector to make sure that the citizens benefit from their natural resources. He said lawmakers are aware that the natural resource sector of the country is faced with numerous challenges.
