Senator Edwin Melvin Snowne of Bomi County has offered a one-week vacation job to over a hundred students throughout the county. On the morning of August 18, 2025, several students from Gbah and surrounding plantation areas gathered in large numbers to participate in a clean-up exercise as part of this vacation job initiative initiated by Senator Snowne.
Senator Snowne emphasized that this initiative is part of his responsibility and goals to promote and improve the livelihoods of youth in the county. He stated that this effort should not be interpreted as a political campaign strategy but rather as a commitment to give back to his community.
He further explained that this project should demonstrate his role as a government official and a key stakeholder in the Bomi Legislative Caucus, focusing on youth empowerment and capacity building in the area. His intention behind launching this initiative is not to signal any desire for political gain or benefits.
Senator Snowne described youth in any society as essential contributors, driving forces, and leaders in development. He believes that providing them with accessible opportunities helps them explore and navigate their paths, ultimately leading to the creation of a strong and vibrant community that fosters progressive living.
