The Liberia Refugees Repatriation Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) has made full payment to over 100 returnees from Ghana.
During the payment on Friday, June 21, 2024 in Johnsonville, LRRRC called on the returnees who have been reunited with their families to assemble with their handover certificates as requirement for payment.
Each family head received US$300.00 while their dependents received US$225 as repatriation package payment.
The LRRRC thanked the Government of Liberia for supporting the repatriation, re-integrated and resettlement process.
Over 1,539 former refugees have been repatriated from Ghana by LRRRC under the first and second phases of the government’s ongoing repatriation program.
Speaking to newsmen at the Johnsonville Transit Center over the weekend, the beneficiaries thanked the Government of Liberia for the support thus far.
They added that the government’s move to ensure their safe return to Liberia will forever be remembered.
