Rep. Cooper Challenges Greater Monrovia Lions’ Club…To Continue Serving Humanity

Montserrado County District #5 Representative, Prescilla Abram Cooper has challenged members of the Greater Monrovia Lions Club (GMCL) to continue serving humanity.

She disclosed that love is the cardinal factor to rendering humanitarian services in any society saying that it should be the pillar to enhancing their work.

Delivering the Keynote address at the installation ceremony of the Officers-elect of the club over weekend in Sinkor, Representative Cooper admonished the leadership to serve with commitment that will enable them deliver adequately to the aims and objectives of the club.

According to her, people are living under harsh economic conditions especially the physically challenged so providing some of their needs can renew their hope or even change their conditions.

She told the membership of the District#403A2 to keep the confidence as people believe that the clubs have the solutions to their problems due to the services they have been rendering over the years.

The Keynote Speaker then informed them that there are so many vulnerable people languishing in every community so they should continue serving with purpose using their consciences.

Those elected for one year term are, Lion Bobby F.W. Livingstone, President, Lion MaaKai Amblard, Region 34 Chairperson; Lion Asatu Bah-Kenneth, Zone 341 Chairperson.

Others are, Lion Benedict F. Sannoh, 1st Vice President, Lion Romel M. Giddings, 2nd Vice President; Lion Eric Cassell, 3rd Vice President; Lion Daniel Dean, Secretary as well as Lion Ade Wede Kerkulah, Director 2nd Term, amongst others.

Delivering his inaugural address, the President-elect of the GMCL, Lion Bobby F. W. Livingstone reminded his colleagues that Lionism is about service to the blind including the disadvantaged.

He assured that the next twelve months they shall endeavor to undertake projects and programs with the aims of making a mark adding, “That’s the mandate from the International President, Fabricio Oliveira.

He assured Governor Clemenceau B. Urey of his team’s fullest support geared towards achieving his vision for the Lionistic Year 2024-2025 and called on each and every member to reach out and recruit new Lions in order to join hands for the implementation of impactful projects for societal benefit as well as the promotion of Lionism.

The President of the GMCL pledged to build upon his predecessor’s success noting that he will be collaborating with other clubs like Zone 341 and Zone 342.

He informed the audience that they will be partnering with the Monrovia City Corporation (MCC) to deploy cabbage bins in Monrovia and beyond.

The Governor of the District 403A2 Lions Clubs International, Lion Clemenceau B. Urey pointed out that the GMLC has a robust and energetic President so they are poised to work and leave a legacy.

He encouraged everyone to work together and be focused on recruiting new quality members as the organization is targeting 1.5 million membership this year.

Lion Urey however, urged professional organizations in the country to join them by establishing a Lions Club like the National Bar Association (NBA), the National Teachers Association (NTA) amongst others.
