The Pro-Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Nyonblee Kargna-Lawrence on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, held a meeting with the General Auditing Commission (GAC) to discuss the implementation of audit reports recommendations.
According to Pro-Tempore Media, this session is part of a series of scheduled follow-ups, which include periodic visits set for November 5, 2024, January 14, 2025, March 3, 2025, and June 2, 2025.
The meeting represents the third stage of the audit process, emphasizing the importance of documenting findings, receiving feedback, and motivating follow-up actions. According to the GAC Act of 2014, the Auditor General is tasked with ensuring that significant audit items are addressed, and the GAC aims to improve accountability through effective follow-up.

The assessment will evaluate financial management processes, internal controls, and compliance with laws, aiming to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
