Police Inspector General, Gregory O.W Coleman, has ordered the deployment of elections security officers for the by-elections in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties. The elections are expected to be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Speaking with senior officers On Friday, April 19, 2024 ahead of the deployment, Coleman instructed supervisors to ensure the thorough deployment of officers and resources to critical locations, particularly Ganta.

The Police Chief charged officers to conduct comprehensive assessments of areas prone to threats and provide security for the success of the by-elections.

Emphasizing professionalism by officers, Coleman cautioned personnel to remain vigilant and respect citizens’ fundamental rights as they fulfil their duties with alertness. He called on the public to remain law-abiding and adhere to NEC regulations.

The Inspector General of Police urged citizens of Nimba and Grand Gedeh counties to embrace the spirit of unity while remaining vigilant and reporting all suspicious elections activities to the police.
