Orange Liberia hosted a one-day event called ‘Good Connection Day’ over the weekend, bringing together hundreds of children, parents, and community members at Invincible Sports Park on Tubman Boulevard. In attendance were employees from Orange Liberia, representatives from the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection, UN Women, LEAD Football Academy, and various media outlets.
The event featured engaging activities for school children, including educational games and inspiring messages that emphasized the importance of online safety, kindness, and digital citizenship for Liberia’s youth. This initiative aligns with Orange Group’s global commitment to promoting positive online experiences.
During the event, children and parents learned that the internet connects various devices, including computers, smartphones, and other objects worldwide. The Orange Liberia team also educated attendees about the numerous internet services used daily and what occurs online every minute. Assistant Minister for Children and Social Protection, Josephine Greaves, commended Orange Liberia for creating such a unique occasion to educate parents and children about the use of social media.
She highlighted the company’s significant role in the pilot edition of the LTA Digitech Expo at the Ministerial Complex, showcasing the Orange Digital Center Innovation Hub, which promotes youth skills and entrepreneurship.
