The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) says it has not issued any official statements regarding details of cases currently under investigation at the Commission.

According to a release dated February 17, 2025, any reports or claims circulating on social media or other platforms that do not come from the Commission should be treated as false and misleading.

The anti-corruption body said the public should refrain from spreading unverified information, as this can compromise investigations and mislead citizens.

The Commission said it remains committed to transparency and will provide official updates in keeping with the law.

“We must emphasize that pursuant to section 10.9 of the LACC act of 2022, the commission is prohibited from sharing preliminary details or findings of any ongoing investigation,” the release said, adding that the Commission will provide information to the public only upon indictment by a grand jury.

The LACC said while it understands the public’s desire for updates, it is doing everything possible to ensure that all investigations are carried out thoroughly and without bias.

The LACC calls on the public to follow their official communication channels and verify information on its official website: www.lacc.gov.lr or official Facebook page: (Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission LACC).
