The President of the Motorcycle and Trycyle Union of Liberia has called on politicians to stop using their situation to gain public relevance. Speaking Thursday, February 27, 2025, John Kenyor said there are reports that some politicians are about to join the cyclists to stage a protest in Monrovia instead of mourning the colleague they lost. According to him, politicians were busy questioning the Liberian National Police as to why they were allowing defective vehicles to ply the streets.

“Let me use this opportunity to call on all politicians in this act to stop risking the society. Liberians should work together to maintain the peace they enjoy,” he added.

Kenyor said they have been engaging stakeholders to plead on their behalf for them to return to the streets. He said Liberians need to develop their minds for the country to be developed because if they refuse, no one will do it on their behalf.

“We will never and ever protest against the government, and we will never cause instability; we as a union will continue to appeal to the government of Liberia to lift the ban,” he said.

Kenyor said causing instability will bring problems to the country and they will not encourage such acts, while at the same time calling on all bike riders to remain calm in this difficult time.
