Monrovia Sparkling Stars Academy has advanced to the quarterfinals of the African Youth Cup 2023 in Guinea following their 1-0 victory over Sabou FC on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
The stars has played three games in the ongoing African Youth Cup, draw two and win one.
Monrovia Sparkling Stars lost their first game against Africa Foot Academy from Mali. Drew with Union De Dixin of Guinea in their second game and then defeated SABOU F.A.C 1-0 in their last group stage encounter.
William Gibson who scored Monrovia Sparkling Academy lone goal in the match was named man of the match after the game with SABOU.
This is the first time for a team from Liberia to reach this stage. In the last edition, it was Lead Monrovia Academy that represented Liberia.
The Monrovia Sparkling Academy team is being managed by Head Coach Samir Kamara and Mohammed S. Sheriff.
