During a tour at JFK and the Monrovia Central medial store on September 18, 2024, the Minister of Health Dr. Louise M. Kpoto commended the Government of the United States of America for its steadfast support to Liberia’s health sector.
Dr. Kpoto emphasized the vital partnership between the U.S and Liberia, particularly in improving the health supply chain and ensuring the delivery of essential medications. For his part, US Ambassador Mark Toner highlighted the ongoing challenges, such as the lack of medical supplies in rural areas, and stressed the importance of sustainability in health initiatives.
The visit aimed to engage with staff and evaluate the facility’s operations, focusing on the significance of drug supply, current challenges, and past achievements. Also speaking, Madam Mary NJOROGE, Country Director of WFP Liberia welcomed Ambassador Toner and Minister Kpoto, while Michael Nguessan, CMS/WFP Manager provided an overview of the health supply chain, including operational figures, distribution updates, challenges, and achievements.
