Representative Marvin Cole of District#3 of Bong County risks being arrested by the Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice for refusal to support his 11 year old daughter.

Rep. Cole’s looming arrest is based on a complaint filed through the minor’s mother Clara Asibu who claimed that Rep. Cole has refused to support his own daughter since her pregnancy. The court has charged Rep. Cole with Persistent Non Support.

The document in possession of this paper reads: “You are hereby commanded to arrest the living body of Marvin Cole Defendant to be identified, and forthwith bring him before the Monrovia City Court, Temple of Justice Building, Montserrado County to answer to the CHARGE OF Persistent Non Support upon the oath and complaint of the Republic of Liberia by & thru Clara Asibu on behalf of her minor daughter Rebecca Cole PLAINTIFF in which it is substantially alleged.”

The document alleged that Rep. Cole’s action is in violation of Section 16.5 of the New Penal Law of Liberia. According to the Writ of Arrest, Madam Asibu complained the lawmaker to the court for being the biological father of her minor child Rebecca Cole, aged 11.

She alleged that since the generation of her pregnancy up to now, he has failed, refused and neglected to tender support to them for no justifiable reason and they have been in need of food, shelter and clothing.
