Since being sworn in as Liberia’s 26th President on January 22, 2024, Joseph N. Boakai is expected to deliver his first address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, the United States of America on today, September 25, 2024.

President Boakai and delegation are already in the United States of America to participate in the 79th Session of the UNGA. The annual global gathering brings together world leaders and global partners to among other things, discuss global issues confronting the planet and their respective countries.

Issues of climate change, sustainable development, peace and security, health and education, among others, are expected to be high on the agenda. During his presentation, the Liberian leader is expected to make Liberia’s case with focus on his Government’s development envelop, the ARREST AGENDA, as well as solidify his commitment to international instruments and protocols.

President Boakai, as part of his official duties while in the USA, especially on the sidelines of the session, is also expected to solicit assistance from friendly nations to help support his ARREST AGENDA including how they can make interventions for his government and the people of Liberia in general.

He is also expected to flag other global issues confronting the planet and its people including global peace and security, education, health, regional cooperation, climate change, development, among others.
