The Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission (LRRRC) is expected to submit a comprehensive report to President Joseph N. Boakai concerning 1,539 Liberian returnees. The LRRRC said the move is part of efforts to ensure that its workings are transparent for public scrutiny.

In a release dated October 14, 2024, the entity said the report will cover financial, narrative and operations of the LRRRC and is intended to give the President a vivid understanding of the repatriation program which saw the return of 1,539 Liberians.

The LRRRC thanked the public for following its work as a means of promoting transparency and accountability in doing government’s business. Meanwhile, the LRRRC has declined to speak to the issue of allegation of financial malpractice as the report is expected to be submitted shortly. “It will be unfair to openly discuss this report while it is being submitted,” the release said.

The Administration of LRRRC called on the public to maintain the trust and confidence as it remains committed and dedicated to doing the right thing.
