The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has taken a significant step in supporting youth empowerment and education by purchasing and presenting a plane ticket to Harris N.K. Mulbah, an orphan who has been granted the opportunity to pursue higher education in the People’s Republic of China.

The symbolic presentation was made by the Deputy Director General for Administration, Hon. Ennish L. Fahnbulleh, at the NLA headquarters. Speaking during the brief but meaningful ceremony, Fahnbulleh described the gesture as part of the NLA’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and national development.

“We are proud to support young Liberians who are determined to improve themselves through education,” Hon. Fahnbulleh said. “Harris’s story is one of perseverance and hope, and we believe that by investing in his future, we are also investing in the future of Liberia.”

The NLA DDGA said the entity’s quest to support education is part of President Joseph Boakai’s Agriculture, Road, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism (ARREST) Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID).

Mulbah, visibly emotional, expressed deep gratitude to the NLA for their timely support. He shared that securing the ticket was one of the final challenges he faced before traveling to China to begin his studies, and the NLA’s intervention has brought him one step closer to his dreams.

“I am truly thankful to the National Lottery Authority for this life-changing support,” Mulbah said. “This opportunity means the world to me, and I promise to make Liberia proud.”

The NLA has in recent years increased its focus on education and youth development initiatives, seeing them as critical to national progress. The organization continues to demonstrate its role not just as a revenue generating entity but as a key stakeholder in Liberia’s socio-economic development. Mulbah is expected to depart for China in the coming days to begin his academic journey, joining a growing number of Liberian students pursuing studies abroad through scholarships and international partnerships.
