Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillion says one of Liberia’s greatest problems blocking its ability to progress is the level of indiscipline in the nation.
Speaking Monday, November 18, 2024 on ELBC Super Morning Show, Senator Dillion said it is easy for anyone to predict the country’s problems right from the traffic where people act lawlessly causing unnecessary traffic jams.
He said the issue of indiscipline and lack of patience is on an increase, as nobody wants to wait or respect systems put in place or the laws governing them.
However, he blamed national leaders for the level of unruliness in the country because of their consistent bypassing of protocols and systems using their authority as government officials.
He said if he were the president of the country, he would take concrete steps to ensure a change of mindset of the population. “I will be in the traffic for days and if any government official uses the center lane he/she will be fired,” he said.

why is it that some government officials in Liberia do not respect or obey the laws? They disobey traffic laws and many other laws that they are supposed to honor for others to follow.
I respect Senator Dillion for making the statement. Any government official who disrespects the law, be it a city ordinance or any other laws, he or she should be reprimanded.
No one is above the law, even the president.
