Montserrado County District #16 Representative Dixon W. Seboe will today, Monday, June 3, 2024 launch the Seboe Empowerment Foundation in New Kru Town.
Making the disclosure over the weekend, Representative Seboe said empowering individuals is not just a noble endeavor; it is the cornerstone of creating vibrant, independent communities.
He said the Seboe Empowerment Foundation aims to provide comprehensive support to the constituents of District #16 by offering opportunities for education, economic empowerment, and enhanced safety measures.
The Montserrado County lawmaker said local and international scholarships will be offered to students within the district, as well as opportunities for six students to enroll in the University of Lay Adventist of Kigali, Rwanda, fostering educational excellence and cross-cultural exchange.
“Teacher Development Program: A special program will be introduced to facilitate teachers in acquiring associate degrees, enhancing their skills and qualifications to better serve the community. Market Loan Scheme for Women: Recognizing the vital role of women in economic development, the foundation will launch a market loan scheme, initially benefiting the first fifty (50) women, to empower them economically and foster entrepreneurship,” he said.
Seboe revealed that in alignment with new safety regulations mandated by the Liberian National Police, the Seboe Empowerment foundation will provide motorcyclists with helmets and reflective jackets, ensuring compliance with safety standards and promoting road safety within the community.
Representative Seboe said the launching ceremony of the Seboe Empowerment Foundation will be a momentous occasion, bringing together women, youths, elders, and stakeholders from across the district. It signifies a pivotal step towards fostering empowerment, inclusivity and prosperity within the community.
