The Kofi Annan Institute for Conflict Transformation is expected to host a peace forum in Liberia. The event is part of the 21st celebration of the signing of the Accra Comprehensive Peace Accord that brought lasting peace to Liberia.

Speaking Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the University of Liberia, the Director of the Kofi Annan Institute, T. Debby Syandee said on August 18, Liberians took the courage to consider delivering peace to its citizens.

Prof. Syandee added that the forum will take place on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.  According to him, the forum will also be like a national dialogue that will bring together parties that signed the accord and Liberian experts to discuss peace.

He disclosed that President Joseph N. Boakai will also grace the occasion and deliver a special statement. Syandee said the institution has extended invitations to Liberia’s former Presidents, George Manna Weah and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

The Director of the Kofi Annan Institute indicated that ambassadors at various embassies, national and local institutions that supported the Kofi Annan Institute will also deliver peace messages.
