The Minister of Justice, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, strongly warns Liberians against mob violence has resulted in several deaths and destruction of properties in the country.
Minister Tweh however encouraged the citizens to seek redress to their grievances through the rule of law.
“In the coming weeks, the Ministry will embark on an aggressive campaign to begin with Montserrado County to sensitize our citizens on the danger mob violence poses to our country,” he said.
The minister said when partners and people who want to invest in the nation gather that the citizens have no regard for the rule of law, they get afraid to invest.
He at the same time clarified that the ongoing investigation into the Capitol Building fire incident is not being targeted at any individual as perceived.
When quizzed on his authority to provide legal opinion after a ruling by the Supreme Court, Minister Tweh responded in the affirmative, stating that his reliance is in Sub-Section (C) of Section 22.2, Chapter 22, of the Executive Law Title 12, Liberian code of law revised.
The Attorney General made the assertions when he appeared on OK FM and simulcast on ELBC, PRIME FM, TRUTH FM, and KOOL FM on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
