The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has with immediate effect disrobed one of its officers, Mr. Edward K. Dagoseh, following his arrest in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case in Grand Cape Mount County. According to a release issued by the LIS, Mr. Dagoseh was apprehended by joint security forces on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at about 10:00 a.m. in Tienii, Grand Cape Mount County. Preliminary findings revealed that the officer was found in possession of 48 boxes containing 480 scripts, amounting to approximately 48,000 tablets suspected to be illicit substances.
In line with its professional standards and zero-tolerance policy against criminal conduct, LIS Commissioner General, Col. Elijah F. Rufus, ordered the immediate disrobement of Officer Dagoseh and his removal from all official duties. The Service further confirmed that the officer has been turned over to the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) for a full-scale investigation in accordance with national laws and due process.
Additionally, the LIS Professional Standards Division has pledged full cooperation with the LDEA and other security institutions to ensure a transparent and credible investigation. “The Liberia Immigration Service wishes to assure the Liberian people and the international community that it remains steadfast in upholding integrity, professionalism, and accountability. No officer, regardless of rank or status, will be shielded from the full weight of the law when implicated in acts that undermine national security and public trust,” the release stated. The LIS has promised to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
